Accident, illness, fire, someone in difficulty at sea or in the mountains: here are the numbers to know during your stay in the Pyrénées-Orientales, from the Catalan coast to the Cerdagne. Keep this page in your bookmarks.

In an emergency

  • 112: European emergency number, free from a landline or a mobile, usable throughout Europe and without speaking French.
  • 15: SAMU, medical emergencies. It is also the number to reach a doctor when your usual doctor is not available.
  • 17: police and gendarmerie (assault, theft, road accident).
  • 18: fire brigade (fire, accident, drowning, flood, gas leak).
  • 196: sea rescue (CROSS); on a boat, use VHF channel 16.
  • 114: emergency number for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or aphasic, by text message, app, chat or video call, 24 hours a day.

If the emergency services call you back, the call may come from 0 800 112 112: answer it, but note that this number does not receive incoming calls.
