Torreilles,
a day by bike
From the old village of the Salanque to the dunes of Torreilles-Plage, from the chapel of Juhègues to the mouth of the Bourdigou: our cycling loop between vines and sea, our tables in the village and on the beach, and what is happening this week.

Torreilles is two villages in one. In the plain of the Salanque, the old village gathers its houses around the church and the place Louis-Blasi, beneath the plane trees, amid vineyards and orchards. Four kilometres away, between the mouth of the Agly and that of the Bourdigou, Torreilles-Plage unfolds a long stretch of fine sandy beach lined with dunes.
Our route is cycled, over a leisurely day with almost no climbing. In the morning, the old village and the chapel of Juhègues; then the track along the Agly down to the sea, the beach and its beach restaurants for lunch, and the mouth of the Bourdigou; and the return along the riverbanks to the village, finishing with a tasting at the Domaine de l’Odyssée.
About fifteen kilometres in all, on cycle paths and quiet country roads. Bring water and sun cream: the plain is very exposed, and the tramontane can blow hard.
